Settling in at St Bartholomew's means having a best buddy!
Best of Buddies
At the beginning of term, the Year 6’s were assigned a buddy; some children even received two. The buddies in our school are in Class 1, making them 4 and 5 years old. As they’re young, we have to help them make friends and look out for them. But don’t think it’s a chore because actually it’s lots of fun! We get to do all sorts of activities: sit with them in Pantomimes, have tea parties and run with them on sports day to name a few.
After playing in the playground with my buddy, I have developed a favourite game – “The Monster Game”. In this game, the civilian (usually me) is being chased by the monster – Ben. This is great fun, especially if you hide and he can’t find you. Having a buddy is a great experience and makes you more independent. It is also good because at Tring School we also will have buddies.
